# Onefetch
Onefetch is a command-line utility for displaying Git repository information and code statistics directly in the terminal. It provides a quick overview of project details such as language breakdown, commit activity, author information, and various other metadata without requiring any external services.
## Key Features
- **Offline operation**: All data is read locally from the Git repository, no network requests required
- **Performance focused**: Fast execution even for large repositories
- **Extensive language support**: Recognizes over 100 programming languages through the crates_io/language-detect crate
- **Customizable output**: Supports multiple output formats including JSON and YAML via command-line flags
- **Language filtering**: Users can control which language types are displayed (programming, markup, prose, data)
- **Author deduplication**: Handles duplicate author entries through `.mailmap` file support
## Usage
Onefetch can be run against a specific repository path or from within a repository directory:
```bash
onefetch /path/to/repo
```
Or navigate to the repository and run without arguments.
## Installation
Pre-built binaries are available for Linux, macOS, and Windows from the release page. Package managers supported include Ubuntu APT, Arch Linux pacman, openSUSE zypper, Homebrew for macOS, and winget for Windows.
## Configuration
Users can customize display options through command-line arguments, including text styling, info line visibility, file and directory ignore patterns, and output format selection.
