About this project
Vaulted Money is an open-source personal finance application that runs on your own device. It is designed for people who want to understand where their money goes without uploading financial data to a cloud service. The app supports creating separate ledgers for different contexts, such as personal, business, or joint finances, and lets users record income and expenses. Transactions can be organized into accounts and categories, while budgets help track limits and progress. Users can import bank CSV exports and review reports covering income, spending, net worth, trends, and summaries. Data is stored locally by default, with export and encrypted backup options available. Optional AI-assisted categorization can be enabled by bringing your own API key. The project is built with TypeScript, React, Vite, and Electron, and can be run as a local web app or desktop application. It is released under the MIT license.
