glances

Glances is an open-source, cross-platform system monitoring tool written in Python. It provides real-time monitoring of CPU, memory, disk, network, running processes, logged-in users, temperatures, voltages, fan speeds, and container systems like Docker, LXC, and Podman. The information is presented in an easy-to-read dashboard and can be used for remote monitoring via a terminal, web interface, or API (XML-RPC and RESTful). Stats can be exported to files (CSV, JSON), databases (InfluxDB, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL/TimeScale, Cassandra, ClickHouse, CouchDB, OpenTSDB, Prometheus, StatsD, Riemann, Graphite), brokers (RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ, NATS, ZeroMQ, Kafka), or a RESTful endpoint. Glances also includes a built-in MCP server (from version 4.5.1) that allows AI assistants like Claude or Cursor to query system stats directly. It can be used as a Python library via the `glances.api` module, and supports shell tab completion. Installation options include pip, pipx, uvx, Docker, Docker Compose, Homebrew, Linux package managers, FreeBSD ports, macOS, Windows, and Android (Termux). The project is licensed under LGPL v3 and has an active community.
