Parabolic is a powerful, open-source frontend for yt-dlp that allows users to download video and audio from hundreds of websites. It features a versatile download engine supporting multiple formats (mp4, webm, mp3, opus, flac, wav), concurrent downloads, and complete metadata and subtitle extraction. The project provides native applications for multiple operating systems, including a GNOME interface (using Gtk4 and libadwaita), a Windows interface (WinUI), and macOS builds, as well as browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome. Developed as a .NET 10 project, it requires dependencies such as gettext, WindowsAppSDK, and blueprint-compiler for building. Parabolic is localized via Weblate, has a community chat on Matrix, and follows the GNOME Code of Conduct.
