BackgroundRemover is a command line tool to remove background from image and video using AI, made by nadermx to power BackgroundRemoverAI.com. BackgroundRemover automatically detects and uses your GPU if available, which provides significant speed improvements (typically 5-10x faster than CPU). Supports image formats including .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .heic, and .heif, and video formats including .mp4, .mov, .webm, .ogg, and .gif. It can process single files or entire folders, output alpha-channeled transparent videos or GIFs, generate binary masks, replace backgrounds with custom colors or images, and run as an HTTP API server.
