About this project

Media Chrome is a library of native custom elements that let developers build fully customizable audio and video player controls using simple HTML tags. The components work with the standard video and audio elements as well as with external players such as YouTube, HLS.js, and others. Controls are added by placing elements like media-play-button, media-time-range, or media-volume-range inside a media-controller wrapper. Styling is done with standard CSS, and the components are framework agnostic, functioning in React, Angular, Svelte, or vanilla JavaScript. Official React wrapper components are also provided for a more idiomatic experience. The project follows documented design principles and an architecture that separates UI from media logic, enabling consistent look across different media sources.
