About this project

Mop is a terminal utility for monitoring selected markets and individual stocks without a graphical or web interface. It can be installed from source using Go by cloning the repository and running `go build ./cmd/mop`. The main view displays periodically refreshed quotes and market data. Refresh settings and other preferences are stored in a profile file, defaulting to `.moprc` in the user's home directory; a different profile can be selected with `-profile <filename>`. Users can manage a watchlist through keyboard shortcuts: add tickers with `+`, remove them with `-`, enter comma-delimited symbols when prompted, pause updates, change column sort order, group stocks by advancing or declining issues, toggle timestamps, scroll with keys or mouse wheel, view help, and quit. Mop includes realtime expression-based filtering. Pressing `f` accepts an expression using stock properties such as `last`, `change`, `changePercent`, `open`, `low`, `high`, 52-week range, volume, average volume, P/E, dividend, yield, and market capitalization. Expressions must return a boolean value; `last <= 5` is one documented example. `Shift+F` clears the active filter. Additional interface options include alternating row shading through the `RowShading` setting. The project is distributed under a permissive MIT-style license.
