About this project

Web Development for Beginners is a free curriculum created by Microsoft Cloud Advocates. It is designed for learners new to web development and is organized as 12 weeks with 24 lessons. The course covers JavaScript, CSS, and HTML fundamentals through project-based lessons, with each lesson including pre- and post-lecture quizzes, written materials, step-by-step project guides, knowledge checks, challenges, supplementary reading, and assignments. Projects include building a terrarium drag-and-drop interface, a typing game, a green browser extension, a space game, and a banking app. There is also a newer AI assistant chat project using generative AI, plus GitHub Copilot Agent mode challenges in most chapters. The repository includes a quiz app with 48 quizzes and supports automated translations into more than 50 languages. It provides guidance for teachers and learners, including suggestions for running the curriculum in GitHub Codespaces or locally in Visual Studio Code. The README also links to a newer Generative AI for JavaScript curriculum.
