About this project

melonDS is an open-source Nintendo DS emulator that aims to emulate the hardware correctly and efficiently, inspired by the quality of blargSNES. It supports booting from original DS/DS Lite firmware dumps or directly booting games, with compatibility for various firmware sizes (128KB from DSi/3DS, 256KB standard, 512KB iQue). The project is actively developed with builds for Windows, Ubuntu, macOS, and BSD, and includes a TODO list for future improvements such as better DSi emulation, enhanced OpenGL rendering, netplay, and pixel-perfect 3D graphics. It is licensed under GPLv3 and provides build instructions in BUILD.md.
