About this project
Luxury Yacht is a cross-platform GUI desktop application for managing Kubernetes clusters and resources. It is open source and free for personal and commercial use, with no fees or subscriptions.
The app includes standard Kubernetes management features such as cluster summary data, real-time metrics, workload status, detailed drilldown info, and pod logs. It also offers several distinctive capabilities:
- **Advanced log viewer**: Supports highlighted search text, inverted search, regular expressions, system timestamps for logs without them, customizable timestamp formats, UTC or local time display, ASCII color code toggling, and JSON logs in tabular or pretty-print format.
- **Object Maps**: Visualize relationships between cluster objects at node, namespace, or specific object levels.
- **Cluster Overview**: Shows overall cluster utilization and latest warning events at a glance.
- **Attention View**: Quickly identifies cluster problems with selective per-object, per-cluster, or global issue ignoring.
- **Split-Pane Workloads View**: Displays workloads and associated pods together, with filtering by workload.
- **Flexible Layouts**: Multiple windows, dockable or floating panels, multiple object tabs, and drag-and-drop tab organization.
- **Object Diff**: Compares any two objects across clusters to identify differences.
- **Command Palette**: Quick access to app features, cluster opening, settings, namespace selection, and object details.
- **Favorites**: Save views and filter settings for quick access, cluster-specific or generic.
- **Per-cluster themes**: Assign colors to clusters or cluster name patterns, with light and dark variants.
- **Zero-touch setup**: Automatically parses existing kubeconfig files and scans default or configured directories.
- **Node maintenance**: Cordon, drain, and delete nodes easily.
- **Simple port forwarding**: Right-click on workloads, pods, or services to start port forwarding, with multiple concurrent forwards tracked in a status console.
- **Shell with debug containers**: Start ephemeral debug containers in pods that lack shell access.
Installation options include direct downloads from the website or GitHub Releases, Homebrew for macOS (`brew install luxury-yacht`), or building from source. Linux users may need to install GTK4 and WebKitGTK 6.0 dependencies (e.g., `libgtk-4-1` and `libwebkitgtk-6.0-4` on Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 13).
