About this project

CatServer is a high-performance Forge+Bukkit+Spigot server core that supports Minecraft versions 1.12.2, 1.16.5, and 1.18.2. Among these, 1.16.5 and 1.12.2 are long-term support stable versions, while 1.18.2 is an available version. The project's early 1.16.5 version was once delivered to the LoliServer project team for joint development, and it is now maintained as its branch, providing better optimization and compatibility. Main features include: using original optimizations and some Paper optimizations to greatly improve performance; having a powerful Remap system to ensure good plugin compatibility; good compatibility with virtual users of mods; fixing most vanilla vulnerabilities to ensure security; configuration files providing user-friendly options; and providing APIs that allow plugins to easily interact with mods. The usage method is to download or build the server yourself, then create a startup script to run it. On first startup, library files will be downloaded automatically. It is recommended to use Java 8 or 11 to run it. Although Java 12-17 and higher versions are supported, mods and plugins may have compatibility issues. The build method supports cloning the corresponding branch and then using Gradle for project configuration, patch generation, and compilation. The project also provides dependency library reference instructions, making it convenient for developers to use the relevant libraries in their own projects. Community support includes a QQ group, Telegram, and a Discord channel.
