About this project
Sniptale is a comprehensive workspace for web content capture and processing. It operates primarily locally in the browser without requiring an account or backend. The tool is designed to cover the entire workflow from preparing a live page to exporting refined media.
Key capabilities include:
- Capture & Preparation: Supports visible-area, full-page, and selected-region screenshots. Includes an in-page preparation mode for editing text, adjusting styles, and using viewport presets.
- Intelligent Annotation: Features an element-aware highlighter that attaches frames to DOM elements and an Auto-Blur tool for masking sensitive information.
- AI Integration: Optional integration with AI providers (via Chrome's Prompt API or OpenAI-compatible endpoints) to edit page content using structured data.
- Media Hub: A local IndexedDB-backed library for managing screenshots, recordings, and web snapshots with support for tagging, searching, and backups.
- Web Snapshots: Creates read-only local packages containing screenshots and sanitized markup for faithful visual reproduction.
- Image & Video Editing: Includes a Fabric-based image editor for design and annotation, and a short-form video editor with multi-track support, transitions, and an experimental declarative effect format (EffectV1).
- Structured Data Extraction: Ability to parse pages into cleaned JSON or Markdown for documentation and research.
- Scenario & Presentation Authoring: Experimental tools for creating step-by-step guides and slide decks from captured web content.
- Diagnostics: Experimental mode for capturing sanitized recording context to help reproduce software defects.
