About this project
FrameWorks is an open streaming stack designed for building sovereign live video platforms. It allows users to run the entire video and control-plane stack on their own infrastructure or a hybrid setup. The system is composed of several specialized planes:
- Control/API Plane: Manages authentication, streams, business logic, tenants, and billing via GraphQL and gRPC APIs.
- Media Plane: Handles regional load balancing, edge delivery, ingest, and processing using MistServer and Livepeer Gateway.
- Event & Analytics Plane: A data pipeline utilizing Kafka for event backbone and ClickHouse for time-series analytics and metering.
- Network & Trust Plane: Automates public DNS, certificate issuance, and WireGuard mesh networking.
- Support & Experience: Includes AI-powered video consultation (Skipper), ticketing, and newsletter handling.
The project provides a set of embeddable playback and ingest components (Player and Studio packages) for React, Svelte, and Web Components. It is currently in active beta and supports deployment via Docker on Linux (amd64/arm64) and native binaries on macOS and Linux.
