shell-pack

shell-pack is a fish shell environment aimed at sysadmins and devops, bundling quality-of-life improvements and a set of custom command-line tools. It is installed via documented steps and, on first startup, offers to download helper tools such as bat, ripgrep, fzf, dool and fresh into a dedicated directory if they are not already present. Key features include vibrant colors and icons, visibility of execution time, exit status and pipe status, background job details (time, exit status, PID), improved ctrl-r history navigation and deletion, and advanced directory navigation. Navigation shortcuts include shift/alt arrows for history and directory movement, alt-d or the d alias to jump to bookmarks set with tagdir/untagdir, alt-c for a recursive change-directory menu, and alt-f for recursive filename search. It also provides tmux session shortcuts (one, mmux), optional tmux, midnight commander and htop config presets, tab/window title control via tag/untag, a private mode, a fiddle mode (F11), and a cheat sheet tool with a cheat.sh proxy. Custom tools cover downloading URLs with resume (dl), compressed file creation and decompression (cfc, cfd), copying to the client clipboard via OSC-52 (cclip), an enhanced ssh frontend (qssh), ripgrep content search with preview (rrg, alt-g), online man page fetching (onman), a git review/add/push helper (ggit), Python virtualenv activation (venv), .env loading (eenv), disk space filling (zero-unused-space), boilerplate file creation (create), file/stream encryption (qcrypt), real-time stream filtering through fzf (grasp), paging (ppage), and calling fish aliases from other shells (fishcall). Linux-only tools include lsports, lsnet, ddool, qmount, ssmart, qchroot, qqemu and an atd replacement (@). Bundled shell integrations include iterm2 (enabled by default, OSC 133/1337) and vscode (enabled when vscode is TERM_PROGRAM, OSC 633).
