About this project
This is a Home Assistant custom integration (installable via HACS as a custom repository or manually into custom_components) that connects Comexio IO-Servers locally. Setup requires host, admin credentials and optional API credentials for Basic Auth; connection details can later be changed through the Reconfigure dialog.
Core capabilities described in the README:
- Local push updates: status changes of inputs, outputs and markers are pushed to Home Assistant through webhooks plus dynamically generated LUA scripts in Comexio, instead of polling.
- Lifecycle management: a data update coordinator periodically audits whether Home Assistant configuration still matches the Web-IO commands in Comexio, classifying mismatches as missing, rename, type mismatch, orphan or IP mismatch, and offering repair issues with full sync or targeted delta sync.
- Offline extension handling: entities and sub-devices of offline extension modules are removed, with a diagnostic sensor listing offline extensions; renames are detected via stable serial numbers.
- Entity platforms: sensor, binary_sensor, switch, number, button, select, update and cover/light (KNX opt-in). Analog IOs are auto-classified (temperature, power, current); digital inputs are guessed as motion, window or door contacts from names. Markers tagged [RO] become read-only sensors; markers tagged [TRIG]/[TP] become one-shot button entities reset by an auto-managed trigger plan.
- Diagnostics: bus workload and SD card presence polled every 10 s, offline extension count, function plan backup count, per-extension firmware update entities (read-only), a nightly analog Min/Max range guard with manual trigger button, and a Fix Entity IDs button migrating to address-based stable entity IDs.
- Function plan management: services to connect markers to Web-IO commands, sort plans, visualize connections, stop/activate plans, search plans, restore backups, list/delete/purge backups, plus experimental wiring analysis and signal-flow diagram. Automatic hash-based backups keep the 3 newest versions per plan and 10 change snapshots; snapshots live in HA .storage and are included in HA backups.
- Managed cluster plans distribute marker/Web-IO pairs across auto-managed plans with configurable prefix and pair limit.
- KNX objects can optionally be imported, with DPT-based classification and dimmer/blind support.
- Uninstall cleanup via a Repair issue removes integration-created markers, IOs, KNX parts and managed plans after confirmation.
Authentication supports RSA login (v11) for administrative tasks and Basic Auth for standard API calls. The project is MIT licensed and documented in English and German, with additional guides for configuration, function plan preview and KNX objects.
