KalinkaAI is the client application for the Kalinka music system, a self-hosted Hi-Fi setup aimed at Raspberry Pi and Linux hardware. This repository contains the remote control only: it plays nothing on its own and requires a separate Kalinka Music Server on the same network. The server, hosted in the KalinkaPlayer repository, provides a C++/ALSA audio engine, a library indexer with metadata enrichment, and a CLAP-based semantic search engine. The app runs on Android, Windows, Linux desktop and in the browser. It discovers a server over mDNS or accepts a manually entered address. A setup wizard guides first-time connection. The server also exposes a browser player at port 8000, so no client install is strictly necessary. A headline capability is semantic search: a natural-language phrase such as "something melancholic for tonight" is turned into matching tracks, processed on the user's own hardware. The project states there is no cloud dependency, subscription or account. Installation paths are documented per platform. Android users can install via Obtainium, which pulls directly from GitHub Releases and keeps the app updated, or download a universal APK manually. Release APKs are signed with a published certificate SHA-256 fingerprint that Obtainium can pin. Windows x64 ships an installer that is not code-signed, so a SmartScreen warning is expected. Linux x64 is distributed as a tarball with an install script that adds a launcher icon and supports uninstall. The browser option requires no installation.
