Ice is a powerful menu bar management tool for macOS, primarily focused on hiding and showing menu bar items. It aims to be one of the most versatile menu bar tools available, offering a wide range of features beyond basic visibility control. ## Key Features ### Menu Bar Item Management - Hide menu bar items - "Always-hidden" menu bar section - Show hidden items on hover, click on empty area, or scroll/swipe - Automatically rehide items - Hide application menus when they overlap with shown items - Drag-and-drop interface to arrange items - Display hidden items in a separate bar (e.g., for MacBooks with notch) - Search menu bar items - Menu bar item spacing (beta) ### Menu Bar Appearance - Menu bar tint (solid and gradient) - Menu bar shadow - Menu bar border - Custom menu bar shapes (rounded and/or split) ### Hotkeys - Toggle individual menu bar sections - Show search panel - Enable/disable Ice Bar - Show/hide section divider icons - Toggle application menus ### Other - Launch at login - Automatic updates ## Installation ### Manual Installation Download the "Ice.zip" file from the latest release and move the unzipped app into your Applications folder. ### Homebrew ```sh brew install --cask jordanbaird-ice ``` ## Requirements - macOS 14 or later (uses system APIs available starting in macOS 14) ## Roadmap Planned features include profiles for menu bar layout, individual spacer items, menu bar item groups, trigger conditions for showing items, rounded screen corners, light/dark mode settings, and menu bar widgets. ## License Ice is available under the GPL-3.0 license.
