WaifuX is an open-source all-in-one ACG (anime, comic, games) app designed specifically for macOS, aggregating static wallpapers, dynamic wallpapers, and anime video resources. The app supports multiple data sources such as Wallhaven, 4K Wall, and MotionBGs. Users can perform smart filtering by multiple dimensions including keywords, tags, categories, and colors, and set wallpapers as the desktop background with one click, with support for independent configuration across multiple displays. In addition to wallpaper features, WaifuX also includes a built-in multi-source parsing engine for anime videos, making it convenient for users to follow and watch anime. The app has a favorites system that allows users to build a personal ACG resource library, and supports importing local wallpaper folders for unified management. In addition, it experimentally supports Wallpaper Engine Scene and Web (HTML/JS) type dynamic wallpapers, using a self-developed Rust + Metal (wgpu) rendering pipeline for GPU rendering (only supports Apple Silicon). WaifuX is completely free and open source, supports Simplified Chinese, English, and Japanese, and can be installed via the official website, GitHub Releases, or Homebrew. It requires macOS 14.0 or later.
