About this project
IPTV is an open-source collection of publicly available Internet Protocol television (IPTV) channel playlists from around the world. The repository aggregates M3U playlist links that can be used directly in any media player supporting live streaming, such as VLC, Kodi, or mobile players.
Key features include:
- **Global channel playlists**: A master playlist at `https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/index.m3u` containing all channels, plus country-specific and category-specific playlists listed in PLAYLISTS.md.
- **EPG (Electronic Program Guide)**: Program schedule data for most channels is available through the companion [iptv-org/epg](https://github.com/iptv-org/epg) repository, which provides utilities to generate and download EPG data in common formats.
- **API**: A documented REST API is available via the [iptv-org/api](https://github.com/iptv-org/api) repository for programmatic access to channel and playlist data.
- **Database**: All channel metadata (names, logos, categories, countries, etc.) is maintained in the [iptv-org/database](https://github.com/iptv-org/database) repository. Users can report errors or suggest additions via issues.
- **Resources**: A curated list of related tools, apps, and references is maintained in [iptv-org/awesome-iptv](https://github.com/iptv-org/awesome-iptv).
The project is community-driven and accepts contributions through pull requests and issues. Contributors are encouraged to read the Contributing Guide before submitting changes. The data is licensed under CC0, placing it in the public domain.
Legal note: The repository does not host any video files. It only aggregates publicly available stream URLs that contributors believe have been intentionally shared by copyright holders. Copyright concerns should be directed at the actual hosting providers, not GitHub or the maintainers.
