ReFra (short for refraction) is an open-source Android gallery application developed with Jetpack Compose. The project aims to provide a modern, feature-rich media gallery that is free and open-source (FOSS). It is available on F-Droid, Google Play (paid version as a support option), GitHub Releases, and Obtainium. Key features include: - Modern UI built with Jetpack Compose. - Offline variant that removes all network-dependent features (maps, cloud providers like Immich and ownCloud) for users who want a fully self-contained gallery without internet permissions. - Cloud provider support in the standard version (Immich, ownCloud, etc.). - Map preview of photo location data (requires location/internet permissions in standard version). - Trash feature and other media APIs requiring Android 11 as minimum version. - Community translation via Crowdin and a Telegram community channel. - APK checksums and signing certificate fingerprints provided for verification.
