Hyperledger Fabric is a graduated project under the Hyperledger umbrella, positioned as an enterprise-grade permissioned distributed ledger framework for developing solutions and applications. Its modular architecture is designed to provide confidentiality, resiliency, flexibility, and scalability, and it supports pluggable implementations of various components to accommodate different economic ecosystems. The project highlights a uniquely elastic and extensible architecture and a distinctive approach to consensus intended to enable performance at scale while preserving privacy. It is presented as a starting point for enterprise blockchain initiatives, built on a vetted open-source framework. Releases are periodic, with certain versions designated Long-Term Support (LTS) that receive backported fixes during overlap periods. The current LTS release is v2.5.x. Historic LTS releases include v2.2.x, whose maintenance ended in February 2024, and v1.4.x, whose maintenance ended in April 2021. Full release notes are available on the GitHub releases page. Documentation is hosted online, with a Getting Started guide for v2.5 and documentation for previous versions.
