About this project
HyperDX is an open-source observability platform designed to help engineers quickly diagnose and resolve production issues. It integrates logs, metrics, traces, session replays, and errors into a single interface, powered by ClickHouse for high-performance querying and OpenTelemetry for standardized telemetry collection. The platform supports schema-agnostic ingestion, full-text and property-based search (e.g., level:err), live tailing, alerting, dashboards, and native JSON querying. It can be deployed via Docker as part of ClickStack — which includes ClickHouse, HyperDX, OpenTelemetry Collector, and MongoDB — or integrated with existing ClickHouse clusters or ClickHouse Cloud. SDKs are available for Browser, Node.js, Python, and other platforms via OpenTelemetry. A CLI tool (@hyperdx/cli) offers terminal-based interaction with TUI, ANSI charts, and script-friendly output. HyperDX aims to reduce complexity and cost compared to commercial tools, enabling teams to retain more telemetry data without scaling penalties. Contributions are welcome, though first-time code contributors require maintainer vouching. Usage data is collected anonymously by default but can be disabled via environment variable.
