About this project

intervals-icu-mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that integrates Intervals.icu with LLM clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT. It exposes 68 tools organized across activities, activity analysis, activity messages, athlete profile, wellness, events/calendar, performance curves, workout library, gear, sport settings, and custom items. The server also provides 4 MCP resources and 9 prompt templates for tasks like training analysis, recovery checks, and weekly planning. Users can query and manage training data, inspect CTL/ATL/TSB fitness metrics, review HRV and sleep trends, create structured workouts, track equipment, and configure sport thresholds. Destructive operations are protected by a configurable delete safety mode with safe, full, and none levels. The server runs over stdio by default, with optional HTTP and SSE transports for remote deployment, though the documentation warns that MCP has no built-in authentication and recommends tunnels or authenticating proxies for network exposure. Installation is primarily via uvx with an Intervals.icu API key and athlete ID, while source and Docker alternatives are documented. The project is MIT licensed and is an independent continuation of an earlier MIT-licensed MCP server, with bug fixes and new features detailed in its changelog.
