About this project

TuxGuitar is an open source multitrack tablature editor and player written in Java. It allows users to create, edit, and play guitar tablature and sheet music. The software supports multiple tracks and includes features for composing and arranging music. Ready-to-use installation packages are available for Linux, Windows, macOS, FreeBSD, and Android via the official releases page. Users can also build from source code following the INSTALL.md file. Contributions are welcome, with guidelines in CONTRIBUTING.md. TuxGuitar is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License and includes third-party components such as SWT, JavaFX, Gervill, iText, and the Magic Sound Font.
