Noctis is a cross-platform lossless music player built on Avalonia, emphasizing user control and zero tracking. It supports a wide range of audio formats including FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, APE, WavPack, MP3, AAC, OGG, Opus, WMA, and M4A, with bit-perfect exclusive output on Windows, parametric EQ, gapless playback, crossfade, AutoMix transitions, ReplayGain, BPM and key detection, track radio, batch conversion, audio CD playback, multi-channel upmix, pitch shift, spectrogram, and audio visualizers. The library features include Songs, Albums, Artists, Folders, and Playlists views; smart playlists; favorites; star ratings; play counts; full metadata editing; auto-tagging and cover art search via Deezer, MusicBrainz, and Apple Music; drag-and-drop import; watched folders; bulk edits; playlist import from Exportify CSV, TuneMyMusic JSON, and m3u files; duplicate finder; file organizer; command palette; listening stats with monthly and yearly Wrap; artist pages; TIDAL and Deezer link import; YouTube additions; explicit content toggle; rebindable keyboard shortcuts; and more. Lyrics support includes word-by-word karaoke lyrics, plain text, LRC, word-level LRC, TTML, and Lyricsfile sidecars, auto-fetching from LRCLIB and NetEase with offline caching, a built-in lyrics editor with .lrc export, sharing as image cards or short clips, speech-to-lyrics alignment via Whisper, video or GIF backgrounds, and global lyrics offset. The app offers extensive customization with Cover Flow browsing, Now Playing artwork as CD, vinyl, or cassette, animated cover art, ambient blurred backdrops, themes and accent colors, a custom theme editor, Liquid Glass translucent window mode, a resizable mini player, and 13 searchable settings pages. Connectivity features include streaming from Jellyfin, Navidrome, Airsonic, Gonic, or any Subsonic server; a built-in Noctis Server for streaming to Subsonic clients; self-hosted noctis-server for NAS, VPS, or Docker; Discord Rich Presence; Last.fm and ListenBrainz scrobbling; web remote control; media keys; sleep timer; tray icon; and automatic updates from GitHub releases. Noctis supports English, Arabic, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, switchable without restart. It can be extended through content packs (JSON themes, lyrics presets, languages), a local HTTP+JSON API for external tools like Stream Deck and OBS, and .NET plugins built on the Noctis.Plugins.Abstractions SDK with permissions and restricted mode. The project is MIT licensed and requires .NET 10 SDK for building from source, with libvlc as a native dependency on macOS and Linux when building from source.
