hatchet

Hatchet is a platform for orchestrating background tasks, AI agents, and durable workflows at scale. It supports applications written in Python, TypeScript, Go, and Ruby, and can be deployed via Hatchet Cloud or self-hosted. The engine uses Postgres as a durability layer for task runtime and observability. Key capabilities include background tasks with fire-and-forget or fire-and-wait patterns, configurable retry policies, cron jobs, scheduled runs, and event-based triggering. Workflow orchestration features durable tasks for fault-tolerant workflows and directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) for data pipelines. Scaling features encompass priority queues, rate limiting, fair scheduling via concurrency policies, and worker slots. Monitoring includes a real-time web UI, OpenTelemetry integration, Prometheus metrics, and multi-tenancy with user roles. Hatchet Cloud adds autoscaling, multi-region deployments, and SSO.
