About this project
Gyroflow stabilizes footage by analyzing motion data recorded with a gyroscope and, optionally, an accelerometer. Modern cameras from GoPro, Sony, Insta360, DJI, Canon, RED, Blackmagic, and others can embed this telemetry, and Gyroflow can also import external sources such as Betaflight blackbox logs, ArduPilot logs, CAMM data, mobile sensor-recording apps, and custom CSV/GCSV formats.
The application provides real-time preview, GPU-accelerated processing and rendering, rolling shutter correction, adaptive zoom, zoom limits, horizon leveling, per-axis smoothing controls, keyframes, presets, a render queue, and visual charts for gyro, accelerometer, magnetometer, and quaternion data. It supports 10-bit video workflows, image sequences, underwater distortion correction, variable and high frame rate footage, and multiple output formats including H.264, H.265, ProRes, DNxHD, CineForm, PNG, and OpenEXR.
Gyroflow includes built-in and automatically updated lens profiles for many action cameras and supported devices, plus an easy lens calibration process. Companion plugins allow stabilization inside Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and other OpenFX-compatible editors. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, and offers multiple interface languages.
The core engine is written in Rust as a separate library, with a Qt/QML interface and GPU paths using DirectX, OpenGL, Metal, Vulkan, OpenCL, or wgpu. The project is licensed under GPLv3 with an App Store exception and additional permission for linking against the closed-source mdk-sdk component.
