About this project

Filmcase is a Django application for managing Fujifilm camera recipes and browsing your image catalog. It reads EXIF data from JPEG files, matches images to the Fujifilm recipe they were shot with, and lets you filter and group your catalog by recipe. You can push recipes directly to your camera over USB and explore relationships between recipes through an interactive graph. Key features include importing Fujifilm JPEGs to build an image catalog and recipe collection, pushing recipes to camera custom slots over USB, faceted filtering by film simulation and other parameters, generating shareable recipe cards, importing recipes from JPEGs or QR codes, exploring recipe relationships through an interactive graph, grouping recipes into ordered collections, viewing full-resolution images with complete recipe and EXIF data, rating images from 0–5 stars, and customizing recipe cover images. The web app is responsive and works on phones and tablets. Installation options include a Lite mode using SQLite for personal use, a Full mode with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ for development and large collections, and a Docker mode for always-on servers with HTTPS and WebUSB support. The project has been tested on the Fujifilm X-S10, with expected compatibility for X-Trans IV and likely X-Trans V cameras. Filmcase is licensed under GPL v3.0 and has no authentication, so it should not be exposed to the internet.
