audiofy

Audiofy is a native Android app for playing local media files. It uses Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for its interface and is built on AndroidX Media3, with the ExoPlayer FFmpeg extension providing additional audio codec support. It supports Android 5 and later and also covers Android TV, with screenshots showing phone and tablet layouts. Documented video formats include H.263, H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC, MPEG-4 SP, VP8, VP9, and AV1, depending on device capabilities. Audio formats include Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, ALAC, PCM/WAVE, MP1, MP2, MP3, AMR, AAC, AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS, DTS-HD, and TrueHD. Listed subtitle formats include SRT, SSA, ASS, TTML, VTT, and DVB, with limited SSA/ASS styling noted. The project also highlights audio-video synchronization with Bluetooth audio devices. Documented features include audio and subtitle track selection, playback speed control, opening videos through the Storage Access Framework document picker, software H.264 and HEVC decoders, automatic frame-rate matching on Android TV or boxes running Android 6 or later, post-playback delete or next-file actions, long-press touch lock, fit or crop resizing, Media Session and Audio Focus support, third-party equalizer or audio-processing support, and pausing when headphones are disconnected. Gesture brightness and volume controls, swipe seeking, pinch-to-zoom, and picture-in-picture are marked as coming soon. Audiofy is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license, states that it avoids excessive permissions, and lists an approximately 5 MB app size. Google Play and GitHub releases are provided as installation channels, and translations are coordinated through Crowdin.
