About this project

This repository is Google's official directory and starting point for Model Context Protocol (MCP) work. It collects Google's MCP servers, explains how to deploy MCP servers to Google Cloud, and provides example applications. Remote MCP servers managed by Google are available via endpoint and cover products such as AlloyDB for PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Bigtable, Cloud Resource Manager, Cloud SQL for MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server, Compute Engine, Developer Knowledge API, Firestore, Google Maps (Grounding Lite), Google Security Operations (Chronicle), Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Spanner, Cloud Run and Cloud Storage. A linked supported-products page lists the full set in GA and public preview. Open-source MCP servers can be run locally or deployed to Google Cloud. Examples include Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Gmail), Firebase, Cloud Run, Go (gopls), Google Analytics, MCP Toolbox for Databases (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Firestore and more), Google Cloud Storage, Genmedia (Imagen and Veo models), GKE, Google Cloud Security, gcloud CLI, Google Cloud Observability, Flutter/Dart, Angular, Google Maps Platform Code Assist toolkit and Chrome DevTools. The repository also includes sample applications: "Launch My Bakery", an agent built with the Agent Development Kit (ADK) that uses remote MCP servers for Google Maps and BigQuery, and "Allstrides", an app migrated from local to cloud using remote MCP servers for Developer Knowledge, Cloud SQL and Cloud Run. Resource links cover hosting MCP servers on Cloud Run, a blog post on deploying a remote MCP server to Cloud Run, MCP Toolbox deployment to Cloud Run and GKE, MCP support for Apigee, and codelabs on building agents and deploying secure MCP servers. Contributions are welcomed under the Apache 2.0 license; the project is described as a demonstration rather than an officially supported Google product.
