This is the official Android SDK for Stream Video, a service for building video calls, audio rooms, and live-streaming applications. The library includes both a low-level video SDK and a set of reusable UI components, with most users starting with the Compose UI components and falling back to the lower-level API for customization. Key features include: - Edge network: Servers around the world ensure optimal latency and reliability. - Chat integration: Stored chat, reactions, threads, typing indicators, URL previews. - Security & Privacy: Based in USA and EU, Soc2 certified, GDPR compliant. - Dynascale: Automatically switch resolutions, fps, bitrate, codecs and paginate video on large calls. - Screensharing, Picture in picture support, Active speaker, Custom events, Geofencing. - Notifications and ringing calls, Opus DTX & Red for reliable audio, Webhooks & SQS. - Backstage mode, Flexible permissions system, Joining calls by ID, link or invite. - Enabling/disabling audio/video, camera flip, speakerphone toggle. - Push notification providers support, Call recording, Broadcasting to HLS. Tutorials are available for video & audio calling, audio rooms, and livestreaming. Sample projects include a demo app, WhatsApp clone, Twitch clone, meeting room app, and audio-only demo. The SDK is free for makers with less than 5 team members and under $10k monthly revenue, offering $100 monthly credit for video. The roadmap includes milestones up to 1.1.0 with features like blur & AI video filters, analytics, noise cancelling, session timers, transcriptions, and manual quality selection.
