About this project
Genfeed.ai is an open-source AI content operating system designed to generate, automate, and publish content everywhere. It supports generating images, video, text, voice, and audio with local or bring-your-own-key execution. Users can author visual workflows, manage a content library, define brand settings, schedule posts, and publish through a unified interface.
The project offers three deployment modes from the same AGPL-3.0-or-later codebase: a hosted SaaS at app.genfeed.ai, a self-hosted Community Docker bundle for one organization, and a macOS-first Desktop client. The Community bundle includes a web UI, REST API, MCP server, PostgreSQL via Prisma, and Redis/BullMQ background workers. Installation can be done manually with Docker Compose or delegated to coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor through an MCP integration with an approval-first publishing flow.
Genfeed is built as a Bun/Turborepo monorepo with Next.js 16 and React 19 for the web client, NestJS 11 for the API, Prisma 7 with PostgreSQL for persistence, and Redis with BullMQ for queues. The repository is agent-native: most code is written by AI agents under human direction, with AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, CONTEXT.md, and .agents/ memory files defining operating rules and project conventions. Issues use EARS acceptance criteria, and agent-authored pull requests are welcome when disclosed and verified by a named human.
The public API is REST/OpenAPI, with GraphQL used only for outbound integrations such as Shopify. The project is in 0.x active development, with breaking changes documented in release notes until v1.0.0. Contributions require a Contributor License Agreement, and the code is licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later while the name and logo are protected by trademark.
