About this project

Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game developed with the HaxeFlixel framework, originally made for Ludum Dare 47. The project is presented as a tribute to Newgrounds and its community. Availability: a playable web demo is hosted on Newgrounds; demo builds for Windows, Mac and Linux are distributed via Itch.io; Android builds are on Google Play; and iOS builds are on the App Store. The README directs people who only want to play to those links rather than building from source. For developers, the repository includes a compiling guide covering dependency installation and building the game from source, a contributing guide for those who want to help with development, and modding documentation plus a modding guide hosted on GitHub Pages. Full credits are available in-game and in a credits.json file in the separate funkin.assets repository. The README lists team roles across programming, art/animation/UI, and music, including the lead programmer, additional programmers, mobile programmers, artists and animators, UI designers, and musicians, along with special thanks to figures from Newgrounds. The repository itself is the game source; assets are kept in a separate repository.
