About this project

Foundry is a portable, modular toolkit for Ethereum application development, written in Rust. It is distributed as a set of command-line tools that cover the contract development lifecycle. Main components: - Forge: build, test, fuzz, debug and deploy Solidity contracts. - Cast: a command-line tool for interacting with EVM smart contracts, sending transactions and reading chain data. - Anvil: a local Ethereum development node, including mainnet forking. - Chisel: a Solidity REPL. Installation is handled through a shell script and the foundryup updater: curl -L https://foundry.paradigm.xyz | bash foundryup A typical first workflow is initializing a project, then building and testing it: forge init counter && cd counter forge build forge test Chain interaction and local forking are shown with commands such as cast block-number, cast balance, and anvil --fork-url. The README also documents Solidity editor integration. Running forge lsp from a project terminal can open the project in a VS Code Extension Development Host with a bundled Solidity extension, without needing a Foundry checkout or separate Solar installation. Other editors can use forge lsp --stdio as the language server command. The server reads foundry.toml, workspace folders, remappings and evm_version automatically, and flycheck runs forge lint --json. Documentation, benchmarks, developer guidelines, contributing instructions and crate documentation are linked from the README. Support is available through documentation, a Telegram support group and GitHub issues. The project is dual-licensed under Apache-2.0 or MIT.
