About this project
YingShi TV is a video application designed for Android TV and Android smartphones, positioned as an extensible media playback and browsing tool. It does not include or provide any built-in content sources; users must add external configurations themselves, and can also play local media files or push media URLs.
The app offers TV (leanback) and mobile versions, with minimum support for Android 7.0. Users can install either the arm64-v8a or armeabi-v7a version depending on their device's ABI. For playback, it supports Media3/ExoPlayer, mpv, hardware decoding, and FFmpeg software decoding, along with features such as subtitles, danmaku, audio track switching, variable-speed playback, and skipping opening/ending sequences. Media management includes category filtering, search, playback history, favorites, and incognito mode.
Playlists support M3U, TXT, and JSON formats, and can be paired with XMLTV program information. Operation methods include TV remote control, mobile gestures, picture-in-picture, and background audio. Interoperability features include DLNA casting and receiving, Android Auto, local HTTP control, and device synchronization. The project also provides development documentation covering configuration dictionaries, extension integration, and local APIs, with extension examples in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
