About this project
Bark is an iOS application for sending custom push notifications through Apple Push Notification Service. It can be used with the App Store application, a public service, or a self-hosted Bark server. Successful GET or POST requests return an immediate push notification.
Messages can use URL paths containing a key, title, subtitle, and body, or POST parameters with the same names. The body supports line breaks through \n. Additional options include opening a specified URL when a notification is opened, grouping messages, selecting an icon, choosing a sound, requesting repeated sound for 30 seconds, and sending encrypted content.
Bark also exposes iOS notification features such as time-sensitive notifications and critical alerts. Time-sensitive levels can control immediate display, focus-mode display, or passive list-only behavior. The icon option requires iOS 15 or later. Documentation and an App Store download are linked in the repository. The project also lists community browser extensions, command-line clients, scheduled-sending tools, GitHub Actions integration, and language-specific SDKs.
