About this project

This repository provides a Docker Compose environment to run a local Apache Kafka cluster (3 nodes), Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kpow for Apache Kafka. It supports both Kpow Community Edition (free) and Kpow Enterprise Trial (with authentication, RBAC, etc.). The setup includes instructions for configuring licenses, starting/stopping resources, accessing the Kafka cluster via different bootstrap methods (localhost, Docker hosts, host.docker.internal), and adding custom Kafka Connect connectors. The environment is designed for development and testing, with support for linux/amd64 and linux/arm64 platforms.
