About this project
Arduino-ESP32 is Espressif's Arduino core for developing applications for ESP32-family system-on-chips within the Arduino ecosystem. It provides board support and Arduino-compatible APIs and libraries, with documentation covering getting started, installation on Windows, Linux, and macOS, libraries, FAQ, and troubleshooting.
The project supports the ESP32, ESP32-C3, ESP32-C5, ESP32-C6, ESP32-H2, ESP32-P4, ESP32-S2, and ESP32-S3 in both stable and development tracks. ESP32-C2 and ESP32-C61 are also supported when using Arduino as an ESP-IDF component or rebuilding static libraries.
Additional documentation includes a migration guide from version 2.x to 3.x and API compatibility notes for ESP8266 and Arduino-CORE. The core can also be used as an ESP-IDF component.
The repository links to a public roadmap, monthly community meetings, Discord chat, GitHub Discussions, issue and feature-request templates, contribution guidelines, and a code of conduct. Automated workflows cover compilation tests, verbose builds, external library compilation tests, and runtime test results. For debugging, EspExceptionDecoder can translate exception output into a meaningful call trace.
