About this project

Taiga is a lightweight, open-source anime tracker for Windows. The application runs in the background and automatically detects when you watch anime video files on your computer, then synchronizes your viewing progress with popular anime tracking services including AniList, Kitsu, and MyAnimeList. This eliminates the need to manually update episode counts after each viewing session. Beyond automatic tracking, Taiga provides a full-featured anime library management interface. Users can browse their collection, see detailed information about each series, track which episodes have been watched, and manage their watchlist. The app also includes discovery features to help find new anime based on your preferences and viewing history. Additional capabilities include sharing watched episodes with friends and downloading new episodes directly through the application. Taiga integrates with several companion open-source projects by the same developer: Anisthesia for media detection, Anitomy for parsing anime video filenames, and Anime Relations for handling episode redirections between different numbering systems. The software is licensed under GNU GPL v3 and built for Windows. Source code and compilation instructions are available on GitHub, with a community Discord server for support and discussion.
