Evidence & Casework One (ECO) is a local-first Windows application designed for preserving and reviewing evidence and casework. It operates entirely offline with no cloud services, telemetry, or account requirements. Key capabilities include: - Evidence Preservation: Streaming local hashing, encrypted storage, and integrity checks to keep original evidence separate from derived readings. - Document Vision: Tools for photographed-page boundary detection, non-destructive auto-crop, deskew preview, and assessment of glare or uneven lighting. - OCR & Analysis: Coordinate-bearing OCR for words and lines, source-hash validation, and citation-region highlighting. - Local Intelligence: Source-backed outputs that distinguish between original documents, OCR suggestions, and user notes. The project is currently in early native source development. It emphasizes a strict security and privacy model, ensuring that no information is transferred to networked systems without explicit user request.
