About this project

This repository provides a structured, open-source curriculum for understanding large-scale system design and improving interview readiness. It compiles a broad range of distributed-systems concepts into a coherent study path, covering scalability, latency and throughput, availability and consistency, CAP theorem, consistency models, load balancing, CDNs, DNS, caching strategies, message and task queues, communication protocols, and database choices such as RDBMS and NoSQL. The guide emphasizes trade-offs and practical decision-making, with links to further reading and real-world architecture examples. It includes a study guide tailored to short, medium, and long interview timelines, a step-by-step approach for tackling system design questions, and a set of common interview exercises with sample discussions, code, and diagrams. Object-oriented design problems are also included, with solutions presented in notebooks. Additionally, the project offers Anki flashcard decks for spaced repetition of key concepts and exercises, supporting mobile learning. The content is maintained by the community and available in multiple translations.
