About this project

DPlayer is an HTML5 danmaku (bullet comments) video player designed to help developers easily embed video and danmaku functionality into their web projects. Supported streaming formats include HLS, FLV, MPEG DASH, and WebTorrent, alongside support for custom streaming formats. Supported media formats include MP4 H.264, WebM, and Ogg Theora Vorbis. Key features include danmaku/scrolling comments, screenshot capture, keyboard hotkeys, quality switching, video thumbnails, and subtitle support. The project provides a rich ecosystem of related tools and plugins. This includes DPlayer-thumbnails for generating video thumbnails, multiple danmaku API backends (Node.js, PHP, Ruby), and plugins for platforms such as Typecho, Hexo, Z-BlogPHP, Discuz!, and WordPress. Framework integrations for Vue and React are also available. DPlayer is used by several platforms including Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), GeekTime, Cloudreve, and various university forums.
