DigitalPlat FreeDomain is a public resource repository for free domain registration and practical DNS learning. While the application source code lives in a separate repository (DigitalPlatDev/Domain-OSS), this repository provides documentation, tutorials, a FAQ, abuse reporting details, and a book-style learning guide (LEARN.md) that walks users from initial FreeDomain setup through DNS, website, email, operations, and advanced topics. The service offers several free domain extensions including .DPDNS.ORG, .US.KG, .QZZ.IO, .XX.KG, and .QD.JE, with more planned. Users register through the DigitalPlat FreeDomain Dashboard and can connect their preferred DNS provider via custom nameservers. The included tutorial is meant to help people take a project from registration to actual deployment. The project states that over 500,000 domains have already been registered. It presents itself as a way to make the web more accessible by removing domain cost as a barrier. The initiative is independently designed and maintained by Edward Hsing, founder of the DigitalPlat Foundation, and started as a DNS experiment when the founder was 15. The repository also contains community links: an official Discord server and GitHub Discussions. A security notice warns that the previous Telegram account and group were compromised and are no longer under official control, asking users not to trust any Telegram messages, links, or announcements. The project indicates future plans may include more domain options and free hosting.
