YTDLnis is a free and open-source downloader application for Android 7.0 and above, built around the yt-dlp command-line engine. It can retrieve audio and video from more than 1000 supported websites and offers a graphical interface for managing downloads on mobile devices. Core capabilities include processing entire playlists, with per-item editing, shared format selection, common download paths, filename templates, and one-click batch changes between audio, video, and custom command modes. Downloads can be queued, scheduled by date and time, and run in parallel. The app also supports custom yt-dlp commands and templates, which can be backed up and restored for sharing. For media handling, YTDLnis can cut videos using timestamps or chapters, remove SponsorBlock segments or embed them as chapters, embed subtitles, metadata, and chapters, edit metadata such as title and author, and split items into separate files according to chapters. Multiple download formats can be selected, and cookie support allows account-based access to private or restricted content where permitted. Usability features include a share-menu bottom card so links can be processed without fully opening the app, text-file import of links or search queries, in-app search, download logs, re-download of failed or cancelled items, incognito mode, quick download mode, Material You theming, and backup/restore options. It also exposes intents for automation with third-party apps such as Tasker, allowing background downloads without user interaction. The project additionally provides plugin support so users can install or update components such as Python, JavaScript runtimes, FFmpeg, and Aria2c. Distribution is available through GitHub releases, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, and Uptodown, with signature verification details published for reproducible builds.
