ansible-role-terraform

This repository provides an Ansible role for installing the HashiCorp Terraform binary on Debian/Ubuntu and EL (Enterprise Linux) systems. It is published on Ansible Galaxy under the namespace darkwizard242. By default the role installs Terraform, downloading the release archive from releases.hashicorp.com and placing the binary in /usr/local/bin. The default version is set in defaults/main.yml and can be overridden. Configuration is handled through role variables, including: the application name (terraform_app), the desired version (terraform_version), the OS type (terraform_os, derived from ansible_system), an architecture map translating common system architectures such as amd64, x86_64, arm, armv6l, armv7l, aarch64 and 32/64-bit values to the correct release artifacts, the download base URL (terraform_dl_url), a temporary download location (terraform_dl_loc, default /tmp), the binary install path (terraform_bin_path, default /usr/local/bin), and file ownership and permission settings (terraform_file_owner, terraform_file_group, terraform_file_mode, default 0755). The role declares no dependencies and no special requirements. Example playbooks show the default installation, overriding the Terraform version, and changing the binary install path.
