dnd-kit

dnd-kit provides a layered architecture for drag-and-drop interfaces on the web. Its abstract core can be used through a DOM implementation and thin framework adapters, with documented quickstarts for vanilla JavaScript, React, Vue, Svelte, and SolidJS. The toolkit supports lists, grids, multiple containers, nested contexts, variable-sized items, virtualized lists, and 2D-style drag interactions. Input support includes pointer, mouse, touch, and keyboard sensors. Accessibility features cover keyboard operation, default ARIA attributes, screen-reader instructions, and live regions. Developers can customize animations, transitions, behaviors, styles, key bindings, sensors, and collision-detection logic. A sortable layer is available through @dnd-kit/dom/sortable for ordering interfaces.
