About this project

Chessever Frontend is an open-source Flutter application for following live chess tournaments, players, and games. It integrates with the ChessEver Gamebase API, requiring users to generate a personal API key from their ChessEver account via the developer portal. The app provides routes for tournaments, calendar, library, and player pages, along with search and filter flows. Board interactions include notation taps, move traversal, game swipes, and engine line visibility, with engine analysis showing principal variations (PVS) and node counts (knodes). The project includes a Patrol-based mobile end-to-end test suite covering route coverage, live-data fetching, and chess-board engine assertions. Tests run the app in a dedicated E2E mode, sign in with a real test account, and exercise page roots, search/filter flows, and board interactions. Smoke and deep test runs are available via shell scripts. Additional tooling covers splash screen generation (flutter_native_splash), app icon generation (flutter_launcher_icons), localization utilities (flutter gen-l10n), and asset generation via build_runner. The iOS bundle identifier is com.chessever.app. Environment configuration uses .env files loaded at compile time via --dart-define-from-file, with .env intentionally gitignored.
