primuse

Primuse is a native multi-source music player for the Apple ecosystem, covering iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. It is available on the App Store and offers a TestFlight public beta. It brings local files, NAS, media servers, cloud drives, internet radio, and Apple Music into a single library and playback queue. On the music source side, it supports NAS devices such as Synology DSM and QNAP; file protocols such as SMB/CIFS, WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, NFS, S3, and UPnP/DLNA; music servers such as Subsonic, Navidrome, Airsonic, Gonic, Feiniu Music, and Synology Audio Station; media servers such as Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex; and cloud drives such as 123 Cloud Drive, 115, Baidu Netdisk, Aliyun Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. When adding a server, you only need to enter one address; the app automatically confirms the port, TLS, and available paths, and supports background scanning, resumable scanning, and incremental updates. Playback capabilities include dual paths with a native hi-fi engine and FFmpeg-compatible decoding, covering formats such as MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, APE, WavPack, OGG/Opus, WMA, and DSD, and supporting CUE splitting, DTS/DTS-CD, gapless playback and crossfade, ReplayGain, speed change without pitch change, a ten-band equalizer, and spatial audio. For lyrics and metadata, it can read embedded tags, multiple Sidecar lyrics formats, and word-by-word lyrics, and supports offline translation, lyrics editing and timing, and lyrics poster sharing; it includes built-in Apple Music/iTunes Search, MusicBrainz, and LRCLIB scraping sources, and custom scraping sources can be imported via JSON configuration. For library and sync, it provides unified browsing, smart playlists, duplicate song cleanup, listening statistics, Last.fm/ListenBrainz scrobbling, and syncs playlists, music sources, playback history, and preferences via CloudKit, with support for family sharing and local network device transfer. The project is a Swift project and requires Xcode 26.0+ and Swift 6.0+, with minimum support for iOS/iPadOS 18.0, macOS 15.0, tvOS 17.0, and watchOS 10.0. The repository includes the PrimuseKit shared module, Apple TV and Watch apps, Widget extensions, FFmpeg XCFramework, and local development scripts.
