About this project
BetterDB Monitor is a comprehensive monitoring and observability platform designed for Valkey and Redis databases. It captures real-time metrics, slow logs, command patterns, client activity, and anomaly signals, persisting them for historical analysis. The tool supports Valkey 8.x native features such as COMMANDLOG, CLUSTER SLOT-STATS, and per‑thread I/O metrics, while remaining compatible with Redis 6+. Users can query slow logs, command patterns, and client activity across any time range, and record live traffic with MONITOR capture sessions. Hot key tracking, cluster topology graphs, and per‑slot CPU and key distribution provide deep cluster visibility. Anomaly detection with automatic baseline learning and plain‑English diagnoses is available, along with capacity forecasting, webhook alerts, and a live migration workflow between Redis and Valkey. For AI workloads, the platform offers vector search observability, inference latency metrics, and semantic cache intelligence. Integration options include a Prometheus endpoint with 100+ metrics, OpenTelemetry trace ingestion, a REST API documented via OpenAPI, and an MCP server with 60 tools for Claude Code or Cursor. Deployment is flexible: Docker images (multi‑arch), Kubernetes Helm chart, or CLI via npx. Storage backends include memory, PostgreSQL, Turso, and SQLite for local development. The system supports SSH tunnels for private subnet access, air‑gapped licensing with offline JWT tokens, and encryption of secrets at rest. BetterDB Monitor is built with NestJS/Fastify backend, React/Vite frontend, and a pnpm monorepo, and is released under MIT + Commercial license.
