SILVA (Natural Resources SILVA Application) is a BC Government open-source starting web application that provides a set of policies, standards, guides and pipelines for building a React TypeScript web application. It is marked as Experimental lifecycle. Frontend stack: a Progressive Web Application built with React, React Redux, TypeScript, React Testing Library, Vitest, Vite and Node 20. Linting uses Standard TS ESLint. Styling relies on the Carbon Design System (via bcgov/nr-theme) and Bootstrap CSS. Authentication and authorization use FAM (AWS Cognito). Backend stack: a REST API built with Java 17 on GraalVM, Spring Boot Web, Apache Maven, Hibernate ORM and Oracle JDBC. Linting uses Google Java Checkstyle. Authentication and authorization use OAuth 2.0 with JWT token-based requests. The README also documents TanStack Query key conventions mapping REST paths such as /posts, /posts/1, /posts?author=1 and /posts/2/comments to corresponding query keys. Getting started: after cloning the repository, run `docker compose up -d` at the project root. The app is then available at http://localhost:3000 and the REST API at http://localhost:8080.
